Day Care: General Policies and Fees 2013-2014

We at East Hill Baptist Church Day Care serve all children ages 6 weeks to preschool five (under school age). Our school capacity is 95 children, but we limit our classroom enrollment so that your children can benefit more adequately from their environment. Because we limit enrollment, we accept only full day registrations. We do not accept drop-ins at anytime.

East Hill Baptist Church Day Care is open all year with the exception of the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the Friday following, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. A minimum of two weeks notice will be given if any changes are to be made in the holiday schedule. Weekly rates apply to all weeks including those weeks with holidays. Please see vacation information under fees section.

In order to comply with state regulations, before a child can be enrolled at East Hill Baptist Church Day Care, all enrollment papers including the child's health records, i.e., immunization chart and current physical information, must be completed and on file in the day care office. These records must be kept current at all times and updated annually. East Hill Baptist Church Day Care has a one time non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 per child. Enrollment papers must be renewed and updated annually. For infants, a non-refundable registration fee of $25.00 and the first week's tuition, also non-refundable, must be paid at the time of enrollment.

Parents will provide East Hill Baptist Church Day Care with current and accurate emergency information at all times. It is imperative for your child's well-being that we know who to contact and how to get in touch with them in case of an emergency. We must also have written authorization from parents or legal guardian as to all persons allowed to remove your child from the day care. Designated person(s) must be at least 16 years of age to remove your child from the premises. Identification will be expected from those persons unfamiliar to our staff and no child will be allowed to leave with anyone whose name is not on file without written permission or a phone call from the parent or guardian. In the event of an emergency such as a hurricane, parents will be notified to promptly pick up their children so that the church can be secured.

Parents are required to sign-in each child upon arrival, to leave the child in the care of a staff member, to sign-out the child, and to notify a staff member upon departure. Your cooperation will help insure the safety of your child.

For everyone concerned, we at East Hill Baptist Church Day Care cannot care for sick children. Any child becoming ill (fever, diarrhea, etc.) while in our care will be isolated and their parents notified to promptly come for him/her. We have established policies for the health and well being of all our children. These policies have proven effective in protecting our day care children against the spread of infection. Complete cooperation is essential in maintaining a healthy day care.

If your child is diagnosed with any illness, they must be on medication (including Tylenol) for 24 hours, one full day, before returning to day care.

A doctor's release will be required for a child to return before the 24 hour period to verify that the child does not have any of the following: Cold with fever, virus, ear infection, diarrhea, and normal childhood diseases such as chicken pox, mumps, measles, etc. If you are not sure of any illness, please call the Day Care Director.

Any medication given at the day care must be authorized by a written statement from the parent. Medication release forms are located, for your convenience, in the main office near the daily register sheet and in the infant-care room. Any staff member will assist you in locating them. No medication can or will be given without written permission. All medicine must be in the original container with directions for administration and the child's name on each container.

East Hill Baptist Church Day Care provides hot lunches for children one year of age and older. Nutritious snacks will be provided. Monthly menus will be provided and each meal will meet state requirements for nutritional needs of children. With the exception of infant formulas and foods, no breakfast foods are to be brought into the day care. In regard to baby formula and bottles, we must ask that the formulas be prepared at home. The bottles and food for the infants must be well marked and ready to serve.

Please notify us by 9:30 a.m. if you want your child to eat lunch at day care
and you will be arriving after that time.

Following lunch, a nap period is provided for all children one and one half years or older. We will provide, for your child's comfort, a sleeping mat that is at least 2 inches thick. A pillow and blanket may be provided but must be marked with the child's name and must be taken home weekly to be laundered.
For your child's comfort, we ask that each child bring a complete change of clothing with him or her. Accidents do happen on all age levels and we would like to keep your child as clean and comfortable as we can. Therefore, disposable diapers are required. We would like to be able to assist your child in potty training, however, current staff and facilities limitations will not allow us to assist in training children under two years of age. Please help us keep track of all clothing, especially sweaters and jackets, by clearly marking each item. The day care will not be responsible for lost articles. This rule will apply also for toys. We prefer that the children not bring their toys to the day care. Too often our children are broken hearted by a toy that becomes broken or lost or even if it is shared with someone else. Please help us to keep our children happy. Leave toys at home.

Our staff will make every effort to provide an atmosphere of activity and learning for all our children. Positive reinforcement will encourage a job well done and set the pace for more of the same. Occasionally, isolation from the group and its activities becomes necessary. All parents will be informed of inappropriate behavior exhibited by their child. We expect parents to take appropriate action for the misbehavior of their child. Results must be evident or the child will be dismissed from the day care. No physical punishment will ever be administered by our staff. We also ask that you refrain from administering physical punishment to your child on day care premises.

The goal of our day care is to provide a consistently high quality program for each child in our care. In order to insure quality and consistency, it is necessary for us to enforce the following day care rate policies. All tuition fees are due and payable in advance on Monday for the current week, or may be paid monthly. Note: some months have five Mondays with payments being made accordingly.

1 child under 2 years $130.00 per week
1 child 2 years and older $125.00 per week
2 children (any age) $235.00 per week
3 children (any age) $330.00 per week

There is a $5.00 late charge for payments received after Monday. The fee schedule is reviewed annually and is subject to change as needed. Checks will be made payable to East Hill Baptist Church with a $25.00 fee charged for returned checks. After the second returned check, all fees must be paid in cash. Daycare services are subject to termination due to non-payment of tuition. A letter will be issued to any party who is two weeks overdue with payment. If the account is not brought current in the required time, it will be sent to our attorney for collection. You will be liable for all late fees, attorney's fees, court costs, and any costs incurred in the collection of the account. Due to the area in which we live, hurricanes may occasionally occur. These "acts of God" are unforeseeable and the usual rates will apply. Families will be allowed one week vacation absence per year to be counted in weekly units, not on a day by day basis. Vacation time may only be taken after having been enrolled for a minimum of six months and may be taken in the calendar year from September 2013 through August 2014. The Day Care Director MUST be notified in writing no later than one week in advance of the time to be taken. If written notice is not given, you will be charged half a week's tuition for your child's absence.

East Hill Baptist Church Day Care opens at 6:30 A.M. and closes promptly at 6:00 P.M. It is important that you note our opening and closing times. We will accept no children before 6:30 A.M. and cannot stay open for child care any longer than 6:00 P.M. Our license will not allow us to extend either our opening or closing times. There will be a charge of $5.00 per each 5 minute increment or part thereof for children picked up after closing time. For example, up to five minutes late will yield a $5 charge; up to 10 minutes late, a $10 charge, up to 15 minutes late, a $15 charge and so on. Please be courteous to our workers and your children by being prompt to pick them up at the end of the day. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.

We ask that you read through these policies thoroughly and sign forms available in the daycare office agreeing to comply with all provisions specified above for your child's health, safety and happiness.
